THREE YEAR OLDS AND YOUNGER FOURS

SUMMARY

We recognize that the growth of a child is a gradual developmental process unique to each child. Our programs are designed to support each child’s natural curiosity for learning. Young children learn by through playing and are motivated by their own desire to make sense of their world. At Salem Fields Learning Center, your child will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of hands-on activities which are designed to support social, emotional, spiritual, and cognitive development. Our teachers closely observe to see what each child understands and then pose additional challenges to encourage their thinking further. Thus, our learning environment is child-directed, and teacher supported while children learn information in a meaningful and natural context.

Our Three’s and Younger Four’s participate in daily activities in an effort to facilitate their learning and development. We believe in utilizing several different activities and teaching strategies in order to meet the various learning styles and needs of our students. Our goal in these classrooms is to help prepare our students with the foundation needed to be successful in preschool. We focus on the whole child by promoting growth and development in our students academically, behaviorally, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

Pro Care App

Daily communication with our parents is important to us and a key part of having positive parent-teacher relationships. We utilize the Pro-Care App to keep our parents updated on their child’s daily activities, mealtimes, nap times etc

Meals

Students participate in our scheduled mealtimes and are served a Morning Snack, Lunch, and Afternoon Snack.

Nap Time

Students participate in a scheduled nap time daily.

Outdoor Time

Students go outside for at least one hour every day. They can enjoy playing on our playground, taking a nature walk around the building and grounds, or playing on our deck area by our pond. In the event the weather does not allow for safe outdoor play our students will spend time in our Large Group room doing large motor skill and group activities. Group play promotes social skills amongst the young children and is critical to child development.
